Shingles Vaccination

If you are aged between 70-79 you are eligible for a free shingles vaccination. This vaccination is usually delivered as a live single dose (Zostavax) or sometimes a non-live two dose programme (Shingrix) if you have a compromised immune system. Unfortunately the shingles vaccine is not available on the NHS to anyone aged 80 or over because it seems to be less effective in this age group.

The Shingles vaccination is NOT an annual vaccination so you only need to have 1 course. The vaccination is available year round so please call the practice to book an appointment with our practice nurses.

Please read the leaflet outlining the shingles vaccine below before booking an appointment.
