Childhood Immunisations

These are undertaken by a children’s nurse usually on Tuesday morning. You will receive a letter of invitation. If you haven't received an invitation and think you should please get in touch with the practice and we can check your record. More information about vaccines can be found here.

COVID Vaccination

These can be booked through national booking here for sites available nationally, or through practice link send through text. Flu Vaccination

If you are eligible for a flu immunisation you will be sent an invitation, usually around early October, depending on vaccine supply. The clinics usually run through October, if you have not received your invite by mid October please contact the surgery.

The flu vaccine is a yearly vaccine due to different and new strains of flu every year.

Pneumococcal Vaccination

If you are aged 65 or over you are eligible for a pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV).

The Pneumococcal vaccination is NOT an annual vaccination so you only need to have 1 vaccination to protect you against serious forms of pneumococcal infection. The vaccination is available year round so please call the practice to book an appointment with our practice nurses.

Shingles Vaccination

If you are aged between 65-79 you may be eligible for a free shingles vaccination. This vaccination is usually delivered as a non-live two dose programme (Shingrix). Unfortunately the shingles vaccine is not available on the NHS to anyone aged 80 or over because it seems to be less effective in this age group so please get in touch before your 80th Birthday.

The Shingles vaccination is NOT an annual vaccination so you only need to have a single course of two doses at least 8 weeks apart. The vaccination is available year round so please call the practice to book an appointment with our practice nurses.

Travel Advice and Vaccinations

If you are planning a holiday please complete one of our travel vaccination forms available at the reception or attached below. The nurse will then contact you to arrange an appointment. A Minimum of 6 weeks and ideally 8 weeks notification must be given before travel.

Any vaccinations needed are free of charge other than for malaria, yellow fever, cholera and rabies and other more unusual vaccines if needed.(these are not available on the NHS) Please note that if have booked a last minute holiday we cannot guarantee that we will be able to deal with your request in time.
